Bella Italia, Italy through the eyes of an Artist by Pat Fiorello

Pat Fiorello has been teaching painting at Il Chiostro for several years.  This book contains over 80 of her paintings of Italy, including many from places which will be familiar to Il Chiostro alumni:  Lake Garda, Tuscany, Florence, Siena, and Venice.

Fiorello invites readers on an irresistible visual journey to share in her most vibrant memories of Italy—its grandeur and splendid views of sparkling blue lakes, breathtaking hilltops, quaint villages and sunlit gardens. Because of her reverence for exquisite light and color, the works of art emanating from Fiorello’s easel beckon viewers to open their eyes more fully, and to breathe in all the enchanting sights—near and far—that the world has to offer.

Article reproduced from American Art Collector:

These 3 sessions are designed specifically for those who are brand new to oil painting
Where I’m from in NYC, September was “Back to School” month. This year will look a lot different for the kids. But if you’re itching to learn something new, I’m excited to introduce this zoom class for total beginners.
I’m calling it ” Painting – La Dolce Vita.” Painting has enriched my life so much. I love opening that door for others to have a taste of the sweetness painting brings to life. These courses are designed for total beginners so no experience necessary!
All sessions will be recorded for you to watch again, if desired.
If you need supplies, I suggest you order the following from Binder Art online.  They have assembled a package of exactly what I believe you’ll need to start out.  They are extending a very attractive discounted price to my students.  You should order it about 2 weeks before the class starts to allow time for delivery:
P.S. If you’re not experienced with Zoom, no worries. It is easy to use. You will be sent a link prior to the classes and then just click the link to enter. A representative from Il Chiostro will be moderating the group call and will be there for help if you need it.

The Myth of Talent

This video, The Myth of Talent, ( 10 minute) includes how I got started painting at age 35- with my first paintings and why I believe everyone can learn to paint.   It’s a talk I usually share with my beginner students, but it is relevant for anyone who is interested in learning to paint.

All  that people need  to paint is a bit of instruction to be pointed in the right direction, practice, practice, practice and giving up the notion that they can’t do in. The good news- all 3 of those things are under our control. So remember anyone can do it! And you already are!

Class Date: Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23 with a follow-up lesson on Tuesday, October 13

Time:  12 noon pm EST (That is 11am Central time, 10am Mountain time and 9am Pacific time; 5pm in Britain and 6pm in Europe)

Class Length: 3 hours:  2 hr. class + 1 hr. critique

(Limited to 10 participants)

Price:  $250 for 3 sessions
