Dan Burkholder is known for looking over photography’s horizon to discover new ways of capturing and expressing the photographic image. In 2012, Burkholder led the mobile photography revolution with his forward-looking book iPhone Artistry.

After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast in 2005, Burkholder recorded the chaos of post-Katrina New Orleans in his poignant monograph, The Color of Loss, the first coffee table book photographed entirely with high dynamic range (HDR) techniques.

In 1994 he wrote the groundbreaking book Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing.

Dan earned his BA and Master’s degrees in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. His platinum/palladium and gold leaf prints are included in private and public collections internationally.

Exploring apps and techniques to make your iPhone/iPad images sing!
There are 3 remaining sections in this series, but each section is an independent topic

Why be content with showing one photo at a time when you want to showcase your work? In this class you’ll master the art of the creative Slide Show, combining your photos with music to create a moving narrative.

We’ll also demystify printing your iPhone and iPad photos, making this final step one of fun and adventure instead of a swamp of wasted paper and ink.

And if you also shoot with a larger camera, you’ll fall in love with the ease and power of editing those photos on your iPhone and iPad also. Your travel photography will never be the same again!

Finally, see how you can add amazing beauty and desirability to your images with gold leaf, gesso and varnish. Don’t miss Dan’s introduction to these no-darkroom-needed printing processes!

Participants should have an iPhone 6S or newer (or an iPad 4 or newer) for this class. A short list of apps to have installed for class will be send to participants before the class begins.
