about the instructor

Savannah Sincoff Ingrid Hoffmeister

Savannah Sincoff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the practice of counseling and psychotherapy in San Diego since 1979. She works with individuals, couples, adolescents and parents and continues to derive great joy from the opportunity to help people grow. As part of her practice, Savannah has facilitated numerous workshops in the community on issues ranging from "Healthy Communicating for Couples," to "Charting Multiple Life Paths." She has supervised graduate students at Alliant University and has also taught in the school of education at National University.

Savannah`s love of the expressive arts has been lifelong. She has a background in theatre, ballet and modern dance, choreographed and performed with a modern dance troupe in upstate New York, and studied Pilates for over 20 years. With a major in drama and dance Savannah now continues her love of theatre as a loyal supporter and a current student, where she met her delightful colleague, Ingrid Hoffmeister. Savannah integrates movement and body awareness into her clinical practice and has enriched her clients` growth through this work. She is a member of a writing group and works regularly on her poetry.
Savannah experienced Il Chiostro as a participant in a painting workshop in June of 2008, challenging herself to go beyond her boundaries:

"I’m happiest when all my passions are synchronized: helping people grow, movement, art, nature and travel! The Tuscan Renaissance Center is the perfect venue for these to come together!”

Ingrid Hoffmeister was born and educated in England. She moved to the US in 1984 where she received her MA in psychology and practiced as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California until 2004. Ingrid is also a certified Gestalt Therapist and `Core-Somatic` practitioner (a therapeutic modality that utilizes body memory to heal the psyche). She has facilitated numerous yoga and creative workshops in California, Tuscany, Italy and London, England.

Her love of the arts and interest in Jungian psychology began in her early twenties when she became a certified Yoga teacher. For the past 20 years Ingrid has immersed herself in the art of writing, painting, documentary film making and drama. She loves to travel and volunteers for a non-profit in Nepal. Today she balances her life between her husband, 11 grandchildren, workshops, writing and Nepal.

Ingrid says:

"The older I get the juicier my life becomes. I recognize the importance of making time and holding space for the emergence of my inner and outer creative experiential practices. This brings me great joy and greater freedom to embrace my authentic self, family, community and the earth. I think that is everything!"
