We will be holding a one-week session of Plein Air painting. You will be immersed in the heart of Italy with a wide range of subject matter from scenic old villages, fields of flowers and the rolling landscape of vineyards and small town Italian life.
Greg`s workshops are designed for painters who wish to take their paintings to the next level. Greg will be painting entirely in oils, but all painting mediums are welcome. We will focus on the importance of simplicity, pinning down a focal point, understanding composition, getting your values to work for you, creating depth and atmosphere and the importance of edges. All paintings will be done en Plein Air.
Dee Kirkham will be assisting in making your trip all you want it to be and to make your Italian Il Chiostro experience the best ever. She has enjoyed the Il Chiostro experience for the past 5 years and will make sure your visit is as special as hers have been. The beauty and serenity of Il Chiostro will remain with you for years to come. The gourmet Italian meals will not compare with any you have ever experienced before. With her infectious enthusiam for Italy and the Il Chiostro experience she will help make your visit one that you will want to share with others. You will probably want to come back year after year as Dee has.
Greg will teach you the `palette` of painting the Italian landscape and all it has to offer you. Dee will assist you in enjoying the `palate` of Italy and all it has to offer you.
This program is open to painters of all levels, but you should be famliar with setting up your Plein Air equipment and have had some experience painting outdoors on location.

The Food: for us at Il Chiostro, helping our guests to experience the food in one of the earth`s richest, most sensual areas is our pleasure. Chianti, the part of Tuscany where we are, is Italy`s famous wine and olive oil producing region. Here we want to expose you to the wonders of simple Italian cooking. We pick wild herbs to create our own twist on a pasta dish, shop in local markets for fresh mozarella and peccorino, pick mulberries from the tree in our garden for tarts and search for the best of Tuscany to serve you at our dinner tables. Tuscan cuisine is a simple art that has been refined over the centuries to surprise our palates while the wine comforts our souls. Come explore what food can really be all about.

Includes:
- Shared double room in restored monastery
