workshop details |
Spend a week in Tuscany working with master sculptor, Peter Rubino,
author of The Portrait in Clay
This workshop will be held on a working vineyard in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany between Siena and Florence. We will have our own full-time studio, clay from the region and an option to have our work fired and shipped at the end of the week. We will also make excursions in the area to view sculpture of the Renaissance masters. Come with us and enjoy authentic Tuscan food and wine from the area and the lush scenery that you only find in Italy.
Students will learn Rubino`s easy-to-follow step by step method of sculpting the portrait, figure and abstract compositions using water based clay. The sculptural foundation of the human form will be presented in a new and exciting sculptural language consisting of simple shapes and planes combined with anatomy. Peter`s inspiring teaching style incorporates using surface texture techniques while building solid forms to create powerful compositions with dynamic movement and rich contours.

Students are encouraged to move at their own pace while working with live models and exploring new concepts. Daily lessons and demos are designed to help students achieve their goals and develop an individual artistic style. Students are invited to use sculpting studio after class to develop new works or practice class lessons.
Enrollment is strictly limited. Contact us soon if you are interested.
